I found this to be a great introduction into the 3d medieval fighting game genre. I also don't have any desire to seek out other games in the genre, which goes to show the strength of quality of chivalry 2. There's a lot of skill to be learned over time, yet the game is still fun without reaching the highest skill levels. The first 50 or 100 hours or so was more just fumbling around and getting used to controls, but after that i felt noticeable improvement. The animations are generally slow enough that you can react to most things upon windup, unlike other classical fighting games such as super smash bros which feels unreactable to someone with "boomer reaction times" like me.
Every update has introduced more and more instability. Now they say they aren't gonna update any more. At higher skill levels you can't really afford to take this game seriously.
